Butterfly Room (Nursery) 2024 - 2025

At Highfields Nursery, our Butterfly Room is designed for older 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds, providing a rich learning environment that fosters independence, confidence, and school readiness—all while having fun!

Our carefully planned continuous provision areas support all aspects of the EYFS curriculum, allowing children to explore, consolidate skills, and take on new challenges through play. We tailor our environment to each child's interests while introducing engaging opportunities that build on their knowledge and prepare them for the next steps in learning.

Getting Ready for School—Beyond Reading & Writing

School readiness isn’t just about academics. We focus on practical skills that help children thrive, such as:
✅ Dressing independently
✅ Using the toilet with confidence
✅ Recognising nursery rhymes and following simple instructions
✅ Sharing, taking turns and developing social skills

Children learn best through hands-on experiences. Our daily play-based activities and routines encourage exploration, concentration, and critical thinking, ensuring they gain essential skills for school and beyond.
