Curriculum at Highfields Academy

At Highfields Academy, our curriculum is designed to provide pupils with meaningful, enriching experiences that prepare them for life in the modern world. Our curriculum is tailored to reflect the needs of every child in our school community. A strong emphasis is placed on fluency in the fundamental skills of reading, writing and mathematics, as these form the foundation for lifelong learning. Through a carefully planned and broad curriculum, pupils gain a balanced understanding of the world, recognising their role in it and learning from the past and present. This focus ensures pupils understand and demonstrate these values through their actions and behaviors.

Beyond the classroom, our curriculum includes opportunities for enrichment, such as extracurricular activities, trips, and residential visits.
